1st and foremost.... check out your state laws

Please do go about this legally folks. Please be sure to check your local and state laws regarding medical marijuana.
According to NORML's website today Sept 3 2010 these are the active States with Medical Marijuana...  

Alaska, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.

Please find the website for your state before you start anything, get that paper trail going as soon as possible.

If you want to use marijuana in a legal medical marijuana state, you need to follow these steps:
  1. Find a medical marijuana Doctor in your local area, the clinic will be able to determine whether you qualify for medical marijuana, to treat your condition.
  2. You need to apply for a medical Marijuana Card which allows you to purchase marijuana from licensed dispensaries within the state you live in.
  3. When you have your medical cannabis card, you will then be able to purchase legal marijuana from a local medical marijuana dispensary if available in your area.
