Ganja Butter or Marijuana Butter for cooking ... 2 recipes

The first is an all time favorite recipe from the hippies across the street YEARS ago!
The better the herb... the better the butter! Store in an airtight container in fridge until ready to use it.
Ganja Butter
Ingredients:
6 cups of water
4oz marijuana leaf .. yes leaves.
1lb butter or margarine (have found unsalted butter to be best)

How to Make your Marijuana Butter
Put the water into a large pan and add the marijuana leaf and butter/margarine, stir and bring to a rolling boil then cover the pot.
Turn it down and simmer for about 2 hours.
Stir occasionally and keep covered tightly.
Now get a fine strainer, line it with cheesecloth, put it into a large bowl and strain it all.
Squish the leaves until it is as dry as possible leaving them in the strainer.
Pour 3 cups of boiling water over the leaves and squeeze again.
Let it sit to cool and the layer of stuff on the top is your marijuana butter. Dump everything else out.
Use it in brownies, to fry your potatoes and eggs in, make brownies, cakes and more. You name it whatever you use butter for... use this instead. A great way to take your medication.

This 2nd one... is a basic one all over the internet:
Making Bud Butter
1. Using a double boiler or two pots, melt the butter on low heat. When using two pots, fill the larger (bottom) pot with water and the top pot with butter.
2. Once the butter has melted, add the weed.  The amount of weed will determine the potency.  For example, a "light" batch may use 3/4 of an ounce of weed to 5 sticks of butter.
3. Simmer for 20-30 minutes stirring every 5 minutes.
4. Let sit for 5 minutes then strain the pot butter (using cheesecloth) into a small bowl.
5. Once cool enough to handle, pick up the cheesecloth  and squeeze out the juice.
6. Cover and refrigerate until semi-solid.
